Whether you're interested in the home craft exhibits to the livestock shows or lawnmower races, there is something for all fair goers. Agricultural fair book facilities and grounds should be clean, neat, and customer friendly. We are not funded by the city, county, or state; but we raise money for our scholarships and charities through the annual production of the Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair and the rental of our facilities throughout the year. Please think about attending our monthly meeting 2nd Tuesday of the month at 8pm at the Arkwright Hall. Without more volunteers, the fair that has been tradition in Tara for so many years may not be viable in the future.

Approved by the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce. Customers attending the fair are provided with a safe environment and friendly, inviting atmosphere. Chartered and incorporated by the State of Florida through the Department of Agriculture to educate, entertain, and inform the citizens of Jacksonville and the surrounding counties about agriculture, horticulture, science, and the arts.
The Image Award cannot be won by the same fair two years in a row, however, the fair can compete for the Agriculture and Youth Awards. The fair has evolved from an agriculture event to one that is enjoyed by so many families in Tara and the surrounding communities. The fairs have outstanding quality and quantity of agricultural-related competitive exhibits and displays. But we do need committees to make the fair happen. The facilities and grounds should be clean, neat, and customer friendly.
It marks the start of the fall season and traditionally has been an event to showcase agriculture and the rural way of life that so many of us enjoy. The fairs winning the Image Award should be and are striving to epitomize the characteristics of what a good agricultural fair is all about.
Factors involved in determining youth award winners are 1 numbers of individuals, schools, school organizations and clubs, and other youth organizations such as 4-H, Scouts, etc. Please think about attending our monthly meeting 2nd Tuesday of the month at 8pm at the Arkwright Hall.
